A few days ago we found out that in order to even be considered for a short sale, our bank wants us to be 60 days late on our house payment. Honestly, I just don't understand this system that seems to have no desire to work with honest and responsible couples. Of course we could have never anticipated that our home would be worth less than what we bought it for (and put into it) nine years ago (before the boom). But, I am at peace and comforted by the fact that we are on God's path. I know things will work out.
Perhaps this is also a lesson for us…if we had stayed in our first house we purchased in 1997, we most certainly would not be in this predicament. Upgrading and increasing is what we all do, right?! Well, for us, that took away freedoms…the freedom to make decisions that are best for our family. Living on one small salary, and being content with what God provides, is our priority.

So, here we go…this will be month one of being delinquent…
